Papers of Kathy Ormond, 1966-1993 bulk (1968-1970).

The papers contain newspaper clippings about Ormond's 15-month tour of duty in Vietnam, her passport and identification cards, some of the materials she used or prepared for her programs, and correspondence with her family and from friends and soldiers she met while on duty. Of particular importance is the extensive collection of photographs, both prints and slides, Ormond took while on her tour of duty, focusing on her daily life, the men serving in Vietnam, namely the Americal Infantry Division, the 1st Infantry Division, and the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, as well as the Vietnamese countryside, the Vietnamese people and their villages.

Kathy Ormond served with the Red Cross' Supplemental Recreational Activities Overseas Program as a recreation aide during the Vietnamese Conflict from July 1968 to October 1969, a program which recruited women college graduates between the ages of 21 and 24.
